The U.S. State Department has approved the sale of 500 PAC-3 missiles to Ukraine for the Patriot air defense systems.

The U.S. State Department reported that Ukraine will pay for the purchase under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program using funds provided by Canada, Germany, and Norway through the JUMPSTART program.

In addition, financing will be provided under the European Union’s credit program in support of Ukraine.

No U.S. funds will be used for this transaction.

The delivery package will also include spare parts for PAC-3 MSE missiles, other related materials and equipment, as well as logistics and software support services.

“The proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by strengthening the security of a partner nation,” the State Department stated.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine had been waiting for nearly a month for Hegseth’s signature on the deal for Patriot and NASAMS missiles.
